We broke up the trip with a stop in London to decompress, stretch out, and lessen the culture shock. Seems to be working for the old bones. London is delightful full of hidden gems. The crowds at Christmas were daunting however in March so much more manageable. After the 8 hour flight,

“…and the people that come and go, stop and say hello…Penny Lane is in my ears and in my eyes …”

Dana and I decided to wander. We eventually ended up in Westminster, relatively close to Abbey Road, woohoo! We shared the crossing of the street with loads of fellow tourists. From families with small children (appropriately attired in Beatles t-shirts and even some Rolling Stones) to teenagers, to all aged couples and friend groups, we dodged the traffic, filmed our crossing, and mugged for cameras.

I love the British manner- ‘ hello love, after you’, it seems so kind and fraternal. It’s gentle and I appreciate it so much these days. It’s so much the reason to visit Britain as well as the landmarks. The people, just gotta love the people.
